About the Opportunity:
The Cheerleading Head Coach reports to the Associate Director of Club Sports and E-sports. The Head Coach is responsible for planning and executing all practice sessions for varsity and competitive cheerleading teams. They will work in coordination with the Club Sports Administrators and the Assistant Director for Marketing and Promotions to manage game and practice schedules .

Responsibilities:
  • Training, instruction, and performances of the club cheerleading team

  • Be present at all cheerleading team practices, home athletic events and at any NCA National & Regional competition

  • Choreograph routines and music for Nationals

  • As needed, Attend Cheerleading squad appearance requests both on-campus and within the community

  • Assist Cheerleading team in fundraising efforts

  • Advise the cheerleading captains in travel plans for competitive club cheerleading

  • Assist in alumni outreach through electronic communication

  • Coordinating routines with the Northeastern University Dance team for performances at home athletic events

  • Ensure safety of participants and monitor environmental (field/court/playing surfaces) conditions

  • Communicate with Club Sport Administrators as needed on issues associated with the club or any of its participants. These issues include, but are not limited to:

    o Travel

    o Injuries

    o Equipment

    o Administrative tasks and responsibilities

    o Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned to meet the goals and mission requirements of the University and the Club Sport Program

    Qualifications:
  • Remain up-to-date on proper certifications - AACCA spirit safety certification.
