The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching innovative and project-based courses in the Civil & Environmental Engineering curriculum. The candidate should be able to teach our core transportation engineering course along with electives such as:

  • Basic Transportation Engineering b) Pavement Design; c) Pavement Rehabilitation; d) Intelligent Transportation Systems, e) Transportation Safety and Mobility.

  • The Department greatly values experiential and project-based learning, integrating emerging topics and technologies into the curriculum, and provides outstanding and state-of-the-art laboratories that support teaching and research. We seek individuals who are passionate about teaching and have the skills and dedication to develop innovative hands-on lab projects or other experiential learning activities using appropriate modern tools, and the ability to integrate such projects/activities into the course content. The position also includes service responsibilities, such as helping with the department’s assessment activities. A ¾ time appointment typically carries a 9-credit / semester teaching load (or 18 credits in one academic year), and pays ¾ of the applicable salary of a full-time instructor, with no other benefits.

Applicants must have earned at least a Master of Science degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering. Strong communications skills, the ability to work with multi-disciplinary student and faculty teams, and ability to teach in a project-based setting are essential. Applicants must have current, legal authorization to work in the United States, valid at least until June 30, 2022 and preferably beyond. The University will not support visa/immigration requests for this position.

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
