Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) at Rowan University invites multiple applications for non-tenure track, ¾-time teaching positions for the 2021-22 academic year (September 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022). The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching innovative and project-based courses in the electrical and computer engineering curriculum. Applicants with expertise in all fundamental areas of electrical and computer engineering are invited to apply, however, our priority areas – starting with the greatest need are:

  • digital and embedded systems, computer architecture,
  • circuits / electronics / VLSI systems,
  • signal processing & modern communication systems,
  • control systems.

  • The Department greatly values experiential and project-based learning, integrating emerging topics and technologies into the curriculum, and provides an outstanding, state-of-the-art array of equipment, instrument, rapid prototyping, fabrication and computational resources to support such activities. Our dedication to project-based learning is reflected in our curriculum, as all our courses have lab/project components. As a result, we only seek individuals who share this dedication, have the skills and passion to develop innovative hands-on lab projects or other experiential learning activities using appropriate modern tools, and the ability to integrate such projects/activities into the course content. The position also includes service responsibilities, such as helping with the department’s assessment activities. Therefore, any experience with assessment, pedagogy, and scholarship of engineering education would be very valuable. A ¾-time appointment carries ¾ of a full-time teaching load, i.e., 9-credits / semester (or 18 credits in one academic year), and pays ¾ of the applicable salary of a full-time instructor, with no other benefits.

Applicants must have earned at least a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline. Strong communications skills, the ability to work with multi-disciplinary student and faculty teams, and the ability to teach in a project-based setting are essential. The appointment is initially for one year, possibly renewable based on performance, departmental needs, and university and budgetary approvals. Applicants must have current, legal authorization to work in the United States, valid at least until June 30, 2022, and preferably beyond. The University will not support visa/immigration requests for this position.

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.

Please name the file as: yourlastname _Application.pdf . Optionally, additional relevant documentation (such as student evaluations, innovative curricular components developed by the applicant, etc.) may be submitted in an Appendix as a separate file, named: yourlastname _Appendix.pdf .
