Position Summary:

The Faculty Associate will teach courses in the Information School (iSchool) during the academic year and summer session and provide academic advising to master's students enrolled in iSchool programs. This position will also include some administrative responsibilities. Responsibilities assigned will vary based on experiences of the person hired. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, iSchool committee/task force participation, iSchool communications, and administering practicum, recruitment, admissions, and orientations.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Master's degree in library and information studies or related field required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience required. We are especially interested in candidates with experience in or with public libraries or archival settings.

- Demonstrated teaching ability
- Ability to teach a wide range of relevant courses
- Experience working in or with a public library or working in or with an archive, particularly with digital archive materials

- Experience teaching courses online as well as in face-to-face environments
- Experience advising or mentoring students
- Experience in project management and/or in a supervisory role
- Knowledge of cultural competencies necessary to work with diverse communities of people
- Experience maintaining data for evaluation, assessment and reporting

Preferences specific to Public Libraries:
- Experience working with youth in a public library setting
- Experience in communications and marketing
- Experience in community outreach

Preference specific to Archives:
- Knowledge of best practices in records management, community archives or preservation
