Accounts Payable Assistant



Shenandoah University’s Accounts Payable Department is seeking applications for an Accounts Payable Assistant. This is a full-time benefited position located in Winchester, VA.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This position will perform various tasks including processing of requisitions, invoices, expense reimbursements, contracts and disbursement checks, as well as other tasks as assigned by the Purchasing & Accounts Payable Assistant Manager.

The individual must be able to work independently and as part of a team; have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, be able to work in a diverse community and have the ability to lift file boxes that are approximately 40 pounds.

Required Skills

Qualifications:

Requirements include a working knowledge of accounts payable and/or general accounting, Microsoft Office applications, and strong computer skills. A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience is required and 2-3 years college education is preferred.
