The Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice. This is a full-time position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level based at the ICPH campus in Fairfax, VA.

Responsibilities:

This position emphasizes pharmacy practice and patient care in an ambulatory care clinic setting. The primary clinical responsibilities of the faculty member will be the provision of pharmacy services within a multi-specialty clinical care in patients who have recently been discharged from the hospital needing transitional medical care management in a broad range of ambulatory care related disease states. The faculty member will also serve as a preceptor for IPPE and APPE students and residents. Didactic teaching will primarily occur within the School of Pharmacy’s therapeutic modules and patient centered care assessment skills series, but may also occur within other courses or laboratories. Service and scholarship responsibilities will be determined by faculty rank as required to accomplish a career contract.

Qualifications:

The candidate should possess a Pharm.D. degree and be eligible for pharmacy licensure in the State of Virginia. The candidate should possess an in-depth understanding of clinical pharmacy practice, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to develop and work within innovative pharmacy practice models. A pharmacy practice (PGY1) residency with an Ambulatory Care emphasis or the ability to demonstrate equivalent experience in pharmacy practice is required. A specialty (PGY2) residency or fellowship training is preferred. Candidates with prior academic experience are encouraged to apply.
