Job Summary

A key member of the JCCC Marketing and Communications Team, the Digital Strategist, helps shape, evolve and maintain the College’s website and other digital and interactive media offerings.
They act as the subject matter expert regarding the content management system and use their expertise to complete their daily work and keep others on the team up to date on changes in the system. They document, improve and test CMS functions.

They manage requests for website additions, changes and updates and provide guidance and recommendations to ensure the web site is effective and aligned with the College’ marketing goals and standards. They help develop standards that ensure a consistent user experience across all College website pages and across multiple platforms and devices.

The Strategist exercises independent judgment in meeting requests, determining solutions and resolving issues. They identify technical requirements and propose alternative solutions in response to requests that do not appear to align with overall goals or established practices.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field
Minimum of two years’ job-related experience working with content management systems in an enterprise environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Organizational and problem-solving skills; high attention to detail
Experience developing process documentation, usability testing plans, and site launch/migration processes
Collaborates well and works effectively and efficiently in a team
Basic understanding of HTML5 tags, embed codes and iframes
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications

Experience writing content for marketing emails
Understanding of SEO and general digital marketing principles
Experience using SiteImprove, ActOn, Funnelback and Cascade (content management system) and project management software
Familiarity with CSS, Javascript
Familiarity WCAG digital accessibility standards
