Job Summary
This part-time non-credit instructor position will teach non-credit students using classroom and practical shop experience in various levels of skills related to HVAC in both residential. and light commercial applications.
Topics include safety, basic components, types and application of refrigerants and the typical construction of a working refrigeration system.
Responsibilities and duties include providing and supporting classroom instruction for the program; maintaining a safe, orderly and up-to-date lab area for the application of multiple labs within the curriculum; preparing course syllabi and instructional materials; evaluating and reviewing student progress in attaining goals and objectives; maintaining student discipline through effective classroom management.
Required Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent
5 years relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree or higher
HVAC recognized certification
Knowledge of residential and commercial HVAC systems
Understand and demonstrate the safe use of power and hand tools and testing equipment in a lab setting
Experience working in a continuing education training environment
Ability to work day, evenings and/or weekend hours
Ability to efficiently use Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint
