Job Description:

The Department of Biology at the State University of New York College at Oneonta invites applications for a full-time Lecturer of Vertebrate Anatomy and Physiology beginning Fall 2021. This is a non-tenure track position with an appointment of one year. Expectations include, but are not limited to, teaching.

The Biology Department offers four major tracks, including a track in Biomedical Science, two graduate programs and excellent facilities. On-campus facilities include a small animal facility, molecular research lab, and aquatics lab. The College's Biological Field Station includes separate research facilities on Otsego Lake in nearby Cooperstown, NY, with access to wetlands, uplands, forests, and streams on 2,600 acres. The Department is part of the School of Sciences which consists of 10 academic departments and 2,431 students majoring in 22 programs. Duties include but not limited to: teaching upper-level courses in mammalian physiology, comparative vertebrate anatomy and histology; co-teaching multi-section undergraduate biology courses in human anatomy and physiology and in general biology.


Requirements:

Required Qualifications: MS or PhD or ABD in biology or related area with emphasis in mammalian or vertebrate anatomy and physiology; effective written communication and presentation skills.

Preferred: expertise including but not limited to comparative vertebrate physiology, comparative vertebrate anatomy, anatomy and physiology, histology, or mammalogy; experience working with diverse populations and/or teaching pedagogies and/or multicultural teaching experience.
