About the Opportunity:
The mission of this job is to provide excellent services to the students who are assigned to the opportunity scholarship office with the goal of engaging students in the life of the college, and increasing retention and graduation rates.

Responsibilities:
In addition, this incumbent has responsibilities in the area of outreach to first-generation and underrepresented student populations, Torch Scholar selection including the coordination of Torch Interview Day, and Summer Immersion, responsibility for assisting the director with the $150,000 budget, and supervisory responsibilities for co-op student and office work-study students, and graduate assistants. This position also oversees administrative office duties related to the functioning of the unit.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Master's in Higher Education, Social Work or Counseling strongly preferred. Strong communication skills, knowledge of higher education, student development, and first-generation students in college recommended. A dedication to equity and inclusiveness, and a willingness to engage in campus issues of access and diversity are important. Strong organizational ability, ability to work autonomously, and to interpret data. A solid detail orientation with an ability to understand the big picture. Strong project management skills and demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
