Coordinator of System Technology Administration

Position # FA122

Position Description

The System Technology Administration Coordinator is an integral member of the WCC technology team and is responsible for engineering and maintaining solutions for the College’s users.

Duties & Responsibilities:
* Serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems
* Helps develop, document, communicate, and enforce a technology policy
* Responsible for the installation and configuration of new software and hardware, including servers, network devices, and end-user equipment
* Responsible for monitoring system performance, securing technology devices, system operations, and storage utilization
* Responsible for data backups and restorations
* Responsible for patching systems and ensuring secure operations
* Responsible for generating and monitoring system logs
* Assists with phone system administration
* Serves as the college information security officer
* Manages user accounts
* Provides support with escalated help desk requests
* Supervises the IT/AV team and coordinates with different departments
* Mentors team members and educates users

 Required Qualifications

 * Master’s degree in computer science, information science, information systems or related field OR;
* Bachelor’s degree in information science, information systems or a related field with a Master’s degree in Education, Higher Education, Educational Leadership, Business, or related field;
* 5-years of system administration experience in a multi-vendor IT environment

 Preferred Qualifications

 Administrative-level experience with MS Windows Server platforms
* Experience deploying and administering Hyper-V systems, VMWare experience, and multi-vendor SAN administration
* Current, relevant industry credentials
