Job Details
Position: The part-time Sports Information Specialist for athletics in North Platte will serve as the liaison between the Knights athletic department and the media. The Sports Information Specialist will prepare timely news releases about the college's athletic programs and teams, photograph home sporting events, maintain the Knights athletic website and promote NPCC athletics via social media.
Other responsibilities will include working proactively with media to encourage coverage of college athletic events and news and overseeing media needs during sports-related activities. The specialist will be responsible for submitting accurate and timely scores, stats and other information to the NJCAA and working with MPCC graphic designers to create pocket schedules, programs, annual reports, fliers and other promotional materials as needed.
The position is approximately 28 hours per week. It will include some nights and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must possess knowledge of college level men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball and softball, men's baseball and golf. In addition, they must possess strong writing and grammar skills, be an excellent communicator, and have basic research abilities and the ability to track coaching and athlete records. Must be skilled in basic computer applications, specifically MS Office products. Applicants must be highly organized, have competent photographic skills, and be willing to work nights and weekends. Recent media experience is preferred. Must have a positive attitude with a high level of professionalism and courteousness to represent MPCC in a quality way. The Sports Information Specialist is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by MPCC and the NJCAA.
