Position Summary:

The UW School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) is seeking a histotechnologist to manage the coordination, daily operation, fiscal management, and technical staff supervision of the SVM Histology Laboratory. This is a multi-user Histology Laboratory that prepares histologic sections of fixed tissues derived from clinical cases, research studies, and instructional materials, and provides histology, histocytochemical, immunohistochemical, and immunocytochemical services. The successful candidate will have the ability to perform complex laboratory procedures, prioritize daily tasks, solve problems, maintain positive relationships with laboratory customers, and develop histologic techniques for diagnostic specimens, research samples, and instructional projects. Position responsibilities require the educational background and experience to perform standard and recently developed histotechnology laboratory procedures, independent judgment and responsibility, and excellent communication. The work is performed under general supervision of the anatomic pathology manager.
