Position Summary

Trinity College in Hartford CT, an NCAA Division III, liberal arts college in the New England Small College Athletic Conference ( NESCAC ), is seeking to fill a full-time assistant coach for our Swimming & Diving program. Candidate will be expected to help the program continue to grow and compete at the highest level within the NESCAC and NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include assisting the head coach in the development of leading and organizing all facets of a Division III Swimming & Diving program, knowledge of and adherence to NESCAC and NCAA rules. Exhibit supportive and cooperative behavior pursuing team goals set by head coach. Recruitment of potential student athletes via phone, email, or personal contact. On-deck coaching, experience writing practice plans and leading training groups preferred, along with meet preparation and set up (Colorado Timing and Hy-Tek). Demonstrate sincere interest in mentoring student-athletes to enhance personal, academic, and athletic development. Assist the Director of Aquatics in all aspects of pool management and aquatic activities, teaching in the physical education program, as well as other assigned administrative duties.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required. 1-3 years coaching experience at the collegiate and/or high school/club level; collegiate coaching experience preferred. Competitive collegiate swimming experience. Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and advanced social media skills. Candidate should be considering a career in college coaching. Must maintain certification in Lifeguarding, First aid/ CPR / AED throughout entire appointment.
