The College of Humanities and Sciences is pleased to announce an opening for a one-year postdoctoral fellow beginning August 25, 2021 or January 10, 2022 with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Candidates must have expertise in racial inequity in health, with a preference for candidates with strong knowledge of race theory. The fellow will work with Jennifer Malat (Dean and Professor of Sociology) on shared projects. Strength in qualitative interviewing methods and/or statistical methods required. Preference will be given to candidates who have both. The fellow can work remotely, if they have the ability to video conference, or in-person in Richmond, VA.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must have completed a PhD in a social science or related discipline before beginning position. Strong writing skills and the ability to work independently are required. Demonstrated experience successfully working in and fostering an inclusive faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so at VCU is also required.
