Job Summary
Under the direction of the campus-based Coordinator for Supplemental Instruction, this position facilitates student learning, promotes the development of supplemental instruction student leaders, and implements guidelines and standards established by the Coordinator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assists campus coordinator by ensuring leaders have necessary resources to facilitate effective study sessions
• Meets with campus coordinator as needed to implement, assess and review the approved plan or work
• Participates in the gathering and analysis of all data associated with program such as beginning-of-term surveys, attendance information, grades, and handouts generated by leaders
• Serves as supplemental instruction leader in 2000-level courses and conducts one to two, one-hour study sessions per week
• Meets regularly with supplemental instruction leaders to assist leaders in the creation of handouts and in planning study sessions that incorporate various collaborative learning strategies
• Promotes the development of supplemental instruction leaders by conducting observations of study sessions, meeting with leaders to discuss observations, and periodically attending classes
• Identifies weaknesses or problems in the current program and make recommendations for their solution to the campus coordinator
• Confers with faculty member(s) two to four times each month
• Attends and participates in all supplemental leader training and group meetings as required
• Submits timecard to the Coordinator as scheduled by College Payroll Office
• Maintains student confidentiality
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College ( TCC )
• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
• Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures
• Associate’s degree or 60 college hours from a regionally accredited college or university
• Earned grade of “A” or higher in target course
• Earned cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher
• One year of supplemental instruction or related experience
• Earned grade point average of 3.0
• Recommendation of Coordinator for Supplemental Instruction or supplemental instruction faculty member
Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures
• Former Tarrant County College or community college student
• Earned cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher
• Tarrant County College faculty recommendation
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
• Ability to work with a diverse student population
• Proficient in the use of application software for word processing, spreadsheets and data base management
• Demonstrated leadership skills, initiative and experience
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills

Special Instructions Summary
This is an on-call position, maximum 19.5 hrs. per week. On-call work schedules may vary based on individual campus/departmental needs.
