Primary Purpose of Position:
The primary purpose of this position is to plan, develop, conduct, evaluate and publish scientific research in a laboratory environment. This position will be responsible for assisting the Associate Professor with biomedical research; responsible for overseeing animal care, collecting and analyzing tissue samples and specimens, documenting results, and managing the lab, including supervising the work of lab assistants. This position will be responsible for calibrating instruments, set up equipment, and completing other tasks that requires limited judgment or decision-making.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Combination of training and experience required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Contributing: Related knowledge and experience required to perform assigned duties.

Journey: High school and one year of directly related experience required to perform the assigned duties.

Advanced: High school and two years of directly related experience required to perform the assigned duties.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The successful candidate must possess knowledge of conducting cellular and molecular research; knowledge of mammalian cell culture, biochemical assays, western blot analysis, immunologic assays, and molecular biology; knowledge of working with mice is highly desirable; analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and multitask; ability to work independently with little or no supervision; to take initiative to see projects and assignments through to completion; to learn, interpret and analyze information to make necessary decisions; to exercise judgment and discretion in problem solving; to plan, prioritize and organize workflow; ability to work flexible schedules; excellent analytical and organizational skills along with written and oral communication skills.
