Job Description

The Associate Director for Public Relations and Communications serves as the primary manager of press releases, story writing, social media, and organization of the unit. The Associate Director reports directly to the Director of Public Relations and Communications.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated experience in public relations and communications;
Evidence of strong writing, editing, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Experience with and understanding of effective digital communications, including website strategy, press releases, newsletters, and social media. Ability to manage multiple competing projects, self-starter, and take initiative in a fast-paced and everchanging environment. Experience with project and team management. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree, experience working in a higher education setting, understanding of accessibility needs within communications, website management
