Information Specialist II
Position Overview: FAMIS 360 is an Accruent software that serves as the Physical Plant work order system. This position administers the cloud-based software, generates reports, and provides technical support. The Information Specialist II will set up and/or deactivate users in the FAMIS system. The Information Specialist II will also generate reports from within FAMIS and any related data systems in order to produce metrics-based reports for leadership. This position will also work with Physical Plant shops on asset management and supply inventory modules. They will regularly audit the work order reports for information and input errors. The Information Specialist is also the first line of tech support for the software should problems arise.
Department Specific Essential Job Functions : Perform regular and complex administrative duties in support of the Facilities Management Department. The Information Specialist II will provide support for the conference room technology. The position will also provide back up for the Facilities front desk and the Word Order Technician. The position also needs to create IT requisitions in Banner and serve as backup for other small Facilities requisition purchases. Provides assistance to Business Management personnel. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience Required: Requires a university degree or 3+ years of equivalent work experience. Also requires the understanding of statistics, basic computer trouble shooting, and willingness to learn new software.
Qualifications/Experience Preferred : Bachelor's degree. Experience in computer operation and work management. Experience in higher education environment. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Should be computer literate with knowledge of worksheet and database applications. Should possess advanced office skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. (FAMIS, Banner, and Object Access a plus). Should be able to perform a variety of responsibilities often under tight time constraints. Should possess excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Should be able to perform accurate and timely work, often when work is frequently interrupted. Should be able to manage and monitor a complex system of inter-related files/systems; devise/adapt office systems to changing organization needs. Should have excellent organizational skills. Should work well with a diverse and busy staff. Should be able to establish and maintain effective working relations within the Physical Plant and UCO community, as well as outside vendors.
