Management and Marketing: Lecturer in Sales

POSITION: An instructional academic staff position is available in the Department of Management and Marketing in the College of Business.  The department seeks a dynamic candidate with expertise in Professional Sales who is committed to teaching excellence and to maintaining an active program involving undergraduates.  This appointment carries an initial one-year appointment and is expected to continue beginning with the 2021/2022 academic year, beginning August 23, 2021.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Masters in Sales, Marketing, MBA, or related field from a regionally accredited higher education institution is required.  Five years of experience is needed.  Salary will be commensurate with teaching experience.  Desired area of specialty is in sales (with interests in teaching professional sales, sales negotiations, promotions, B2B sales, sales analytics, and other sales related courses.  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Evidence of successful university teaching, as well as demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness are all considered an asset.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: We are looking for an individual who has a desire to teach in a growing sales program and coach students on our sales team.  Position would be working with our Sales emphases and would be teaching courses such as Professional Sales, Sales management, Sales negotiations, Sales analytics, Promotions, B2B Sales - and other courses related to sales.  Position also will be involved in helping to coach the sales team. 

Applicants will be expected to teach courses as assigned in the Department of Management and Marketing, participate in professional development, help coach the sales team, provide academic advising to students as assigned, engage in service to the university and community, and participate in department, college, and university committee work.  Teaching responsibilities may involve classroom, online, and/or hybrid delivery in both the undergraduate and at the MBA level. 

DEPARTMENT: The Department of Management and Marketing is a vibrant and cohesive group of teachers and scholars, dedicated to excellence in teaching and remaining current in their fields through scholarly activity.  The department offers five majors:  Management, Marketing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, and International Business.  Emphases within the Marketing major include General Marketing, Marketing Analytics and Sales.  The department serves over 1200 undergraduate majors, and helps support the UW System Consortium online MBA program.  The department is housed in UW – Eau Claire’s AACSB accredited College of Business.
