Position Function:

The Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine has an immediate opening for a tenure track faculty position in Veterinary Anesthesiology.

Salary Grade : UC

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching responsibilities will include didactic/clinical training for professional, graduate and technology students enrolled at the College of Veterinary Medicine, and veterinary anesthesiology resident preparation. Service responsibilities will be shared with one other anesthesiologist and one veterinary anesthetist, one current anesthesia resident (with funding to add a second resident) and six certified veterinary anesthesia technicians, and will comprise a small and large animal anesthesia management in a teaching hospital environment, including participation in the after-hours emergency service. Establishment of an active record of research and scholarly activity is expected.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent and be eligible for licensure in the state of Mississippi.

Preferred Qualifications:

Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Anesthesiology and Analgesia is preferred, but individuals with other ACVAA-recognized anesthesia board certification credentials, and residency-trained individuals eligible for final certification examination, will also be considered. An advanced degree and/or experience in clinical research are desirable.
