The University makes available a broad array of credit and non-credit courses, seminars, and workshops through the Division of Extended Studies. Some programs are offered on campus and others at off-campus sites more convenient to persons living outside of Pueblo. Off-campus instruction sites include Colorado Springs Tower Location and Fort Carson. 
 
A primary aim of the Division of Extended Studies is to provide courses to part-time students. A variety of educational methods – classroom instruction, correspondence courses, on-line courses, conferences, workshops, and seminars  - are utilized to expand educational access and meet the needs of student at convenient times and settings. Students may earn academic credit toward a degree, study for career advancement, or purse cultural and avocational interests.

 

 Description of Job: The Enrollment Counselor is an integral member of the Extended Studies student recruitment team.  Specific duties include, but are not limited to: develop and facilitate online campus programs for online and correspondence students;   provide counseling on the admissions and enrollment process to prospective students;  participate in recruitment activities and visits to community colleges, technological institutions and hospitals; maintain positive relationships with community college personnel; monitor inquiry and applicant data to ensure progress on pace with enrollment targets, maximize yield, and proactively identify issues impacting student progress within the enrollment process. Recruit and assist transfer students with admission; and assist in the development of communication plans, and recruitment publications. Creates communication plans, tracks online and correspondence inquiries and applications.

Primary Duties

Student Recruitment and Support 
Recruits new students to Extended Studies through targeted recruitment activities such as:  representing CSU-Pueblo Extended Studies at college fairs both in-state and online; conducting information sessions, application days, and registration days at community colleges and online college fairs. Monitor inquiry and applicant data to ensure progress on pace with enrollment targets, maximize yield, and proactively identify issues impacting student progress within the enrollment process, as well as providing ES information on recruiting and marketing efforts, for successful completion of targeted recruitment.  Provides information on admission requirements, academic programs, special services, scholarships and financial aid, etc.   Encourages prospective students to schedule online information sessions with the goal of application submission for admission.  Provides a personal connection to the University for prospective students by reaching out to students on an individual level (as appropriate) and providing appropriate follow-up to student inquiries.

Community College / Outside Business Partnerships and Relationships
Works to create and maintain a positive working relationship with community college counselors and CSU Pueblo department heads. Conducts update sessions with counselors; coordinates online counselor receptions; provides potential students with timely information regarding their incomplete application lists and possible scholarship opportunities.

Outreach/Innovation and Marketing 
Assists with the online student recruitment planning process, including communication plans and publication development, as well as online activities for students.

Data Tracking and Coordination
Tracks online and correspondence applications, admissions data, and manages admissions CRM email inbox and gateway functions.

Ancillary Duties

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Valid driver’s license. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Willing to plan and execute travel, both in and out of state. 
  • Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed. 
  • Ability to work with diverse populations. 
  • Ability to lift and carry materials for recruiting purposes. 
Preferred Qualifications
  •  Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in marketing, communications, or a related field. 
  • Personable and approachable to prospective students/parents.
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivate.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow-up in a timely manner, in the office and while traveling.
  • Bilingual (Spanish).
  • Experience in college admissions, visitors center, sales or comparable positions.
