Governors State University’s AACSB accredited College of Business seeks applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Management Information Systems beginning August 2021. This is a 9-month year appointment covering fall 2021 and spring 2022 terms (August 16, 2021 – May 15, 2022). Visiting Assistant Professors will be appointed for a specific period of time. This temporary faculty position’s primary duties will emphasize teaching responsibilities in Management Information Systems, including office applications, IT infrastructure, management information systems, systems analysis, and other courses. Someone who could teach business analytics or predictive analytics courses is preferred but not required. Although this position is not tenure-track and not a part of the faculty bargaining unit, it may be an ideal position for an ABD candidate to obtain significant teaching experience prior to going into the tenure track market. There is a separate position posting for a tenure track position that will begin the following academic year. Eligible applicants are encouraged to apply to both positions.

Minimum Qualifications

- ABD in Management Information Systems or a related field
-Meets AACSB qualifications for Scholarly Academic (SA) or Practice Academic (PA)
-Teaching Experience
-Experience teaching office productivity software; introductory information systems, systems analysis, and IT infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications

-PhD in Management Information Systems or a related field
-Teaching experience at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
-Experience teaching online.
-Experience teaching business analytics or predictive analytics classes.
