Part Time Graphic Designer - OPS Athletic Marketing



Job Summary

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Part-Time Graphic Designer is a collaborative, versatile graphic designer who partners with FGCU Athletics to assist with projects for all FGCU Athletics departments and brands including corporate partnerships. The ideal candidate assists on a project basis to develop visual content for all 15 Division I Sports and the overarching FGCU Athletics Brand, reporting to the Associate AD of Marketing and Sales. The candidate should have an established proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
Requested design projects and responsibilities may include printed collateral materials such as individual sports schedule posters, magnets, game day posters, and handbills; Ticket sales visuals including: annual ticket books and game day advertising materials such as; e-blasts, newspaper/magazine ads, billboards and digital advertising graphics. Fan promotional materials including: t-shirt design, rally towels, etc.; EagleVision Video Board digital design fulfillment. Social media advertisements and promotional materials for overarching support of FGCU Athletics, as well as all printed and digital collateral for annual events and annual initiative for corporate partnership and fundraising efforts. A partial list of the annual events includes: Night at the Nest, FGCU Golf Classic, Eagle Revolution, and Dunk City After Dark.

POTENTIAL SUPPLEMENTAL DUTIES INCLUDE:
Event photography, social media, motion graphics, illustrations and animations as appropriate for skill level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Graphic Communications or related field or equivalent experience preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum two (2) years of experience working with creative/graphic design and social media. Athletic marketing experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Professional knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator) is req Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator) is required.
• Professional knowledge of Google Docs and Microsoft Office required: (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of social media trends and platform management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to multi-task and complete several projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
Interest in intercollegiate athletics advertising and promotion as it pertains to advertising and publicity at the Division I level.
Ability to adapt, learn quickly, be resourceful and to meet short deadlines.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Ability to complete graphic designs for creative campaigns in various formats, print collateral, digital, billboards, brochures print ads, large-scale signage and expo graphics, posters and more. Ability to stay true to established brand guidelines, while working to continually innovate and push creative boundaries
POTENTIAL SUPPLEMENTAL DUTIES
• Limited photography related to FGCU fan engagement and special events
• Create visual and messaging content for social media, as well as provide coordination and inspiration to social media team on proper branding, messaging and content.
• Manage illustration development for Azul the Eagle
This position reports to the Associate Athletic Director of Marketing and Sales, while working closely the FGCU Athletics administration, external relations staff, communications (including video production), student athletes and coaching staffs.
ABOUT FGCU
FGCU teams have combined to win an incredible 70 conference regular season and tournament titles in just 11 seasons at the Division-I level. Additionally, in just seven seasons of D-I postseason eligibility, the Eagles have had 33 teams or individuals compete in NCAA championships. Seven FGCU programs have earned a top-25 national ranking in their respective sport. In the spring of 2018, FGCU student-athletes posted a department-record 3.35 GPA. In 2016-17, the Green and Blue posted a department-best 6th-place finish in the DI-AAA Learfield Directors' Cup and top-100 showing nationally, ahead of several Power-5 and FBS institutions. FGCU also collectively served an all-time high 7,200+ volunteer hours – being recognized as one of two runner-ups for the inaugural NACDA Community Service Award presented by the Fiesta Bowl.
