Job Description:

The Coordinator, Scholarships, will coordinate the awarding of annual scholarship amounts; monitor and ensure compliance with donor and State guidelines; serve as a liaison with the Foundation Office and scholarship committees to facilitate communication; coordinate deadlines and scholarship notifications; and report on privately funded scholarships. The successful candidate will also track and balance all scholarship accounts on a monthly basis; work closely with the Foundation and Bursar’s Office for processing bills each term; perform audits of scholarship accounts; provide oversight regarding the accurate awarding of scholarships; and generate reports and statistics from the database. Responsible for troubleshooting and clearing errors or rejects from the daily data file. Maintains, monitors, and updates the scholarship management system. Provides training and instruction as needed to College personnel who work outside of the Financial Aidoffice. Provides financial aid assistance to students, parents, faculty, and staff on all types of aid administered through the Financial Aid Office. This position r eports to the Director, Financial Aid.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree. Relevant work experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Prefer familiarity with and understanding of federal and state financial aid regulations; experience working in a high volume/high traffic customer service office; experience determining eligibility for assistance based on compliance regulations; experience in a document scanning environment; and balancing and accounting experience.

SALARY RANGE: $32,550.00 - $40,000.00
