About the Opportunity:
The Associate Vice Chancellor of Education Design and Operations provides leadership and support to new and existing innovation initiatives and operations across the department intended to enhance and advance education and experiential learning. The AVC will work with the Senior Vice Chancellor to enrich the educational experience at Northeastern University through the integration of excellence in teaching and learning with high quality learning design into the impact of experiential learning to inform the complete student learning experience, and will steward partnerships to align education innovation strategy with internal and external partner needs. The AVC will drive the division's innovation strategy and build opportunities for innovative approaches to addressing problems and opportunities for faculty, staff and students.The AVC will have oversight over the division's use of technology platforms and will work closely with ITS to integrate learning and design with technology development. The AVC will have oversight over the division's engagement with students for design, including oversight of user groups and student panels. Furthermore, the AVC will support the Senior Vice Chancelor in managing operations for the department including activities such as review of budget, planning, timelines and outcomes.

Responsibilities:
To achieve this, the AVC will have integrative oversight over the operations and administration of Experiential Learning Design Studio, Corporate Learning, Employer Engagement and Career Design, Community Programs and University Honors Program. The AVC will require close and collaborative working relationships with colleges and regional campuses and other departments including ITS, EDGE and Enrollment, student groups such as Mosaic and Scout and vendors. The AVC is expected to stay up to date on trends and developments in the field and regularly interacts with and sources knowledge from research publications, professional associations, and colleagues in the field.”

Specific Responsibilities: Develop a mission, goals and strategic plan for the institutional implementation, development and integration of design into the impact of experiential learning to guide the work of the Experiential Learning Design Lab, to inform approach to modularization and customization of experiential learning and platform builds.

Qualifications:
Qualifications for this position include:
|Masters required, Ph.D./Ed.D. preferred, in a field closely aligned with experiential learning
|At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role in design and management
|Demonstrated experience leading innovation organizations or teams with clear outcomes
|Demonstrated ability to establish and pursue a successful innovation agenda
|Demonstrated experience in design and management
|Experience in managing large teams and budgets
|Strong communication skills with the ability to write, speak, and present effectively to a wide variety of audiences including executives
|Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to use sound judgment to make decisions and resolve problems diplomatically
|Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to plan and successfully execute multiple projects with conflicting priorities and concurrent deadlines in a dynamic environment
|Ability to forge collaborative relationships with peers and to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse stakeholders at various organizational levels.
