OVERVIEW

The Johns Hopkins University, one of the world's premier teaching, research and patient care institutions, is seeking candidates for the position of Associate Director - Investment Operations within its Investment Office, reporting directly to the Director of Operations. The Investment Office has responsibility for investing the endowments for the university, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and related endowed entities totaling more than $6 billion, among many other assets.

Johns Hopkins University was founded in 1876 with nearly 22,000 students across nine academic divisions. The university attracts the finest undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, post-doctoral and professional degree students and more federal research and development funding than any other university in the United States.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This individual will play an integral role on the Investment Operations team and provide enhanced technical capabilities to reporting with particular emphasis on data visualization and expert level excel skills. A successful candidate in this role will be able to use these skills to design and maintain reporting dashboards for monitoring key portfolio information. Leverage prior industry experience principally in derivatives and trade support to execute on core operational processes. Supervise, review and provide training for junior members of the investment operations team, verify the accuracy of portfolio and benchmark performance results and resolve performance-related issues.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in accounting, finance or quantitatively-oriented field with proven academic excellence Minimum of 5 years’ work experience preferably in an investment operations and performance reporting role At least 1 year of supervisory experience strongly preferred Public accounting experience, custodian bank or prime broker operations experience preferred Master’s Degree, CPA or CFA preferred

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
