DIVISION OF COMMUNICATION SCIENCES AND DISORDERS

The Department of Human Performance, Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders at West Virginia University (WVU) is seeking two full-time, non-tenure track (9-month) Assistant Professors of Speech-Language Pathology to contribute to a well-established program with a tradition of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. The successful candidates will contribute to the mission of WVU and the program in Communication Sciences and Disorders housed within the School of Medicine.

The successful candidates will work remotely while providing high-quality instruction and clinical supervision to students enrolled in the online master’s in speech-language pathology program. Individuals with expertise in developmental and acquired communication disorders for school-age children and school-based services are encouraged to apply. Specifically, the successful candidates will participate in the development of the clinical supervision process and direct supervision of students at their school-based setting. These faculty will provide telesupervision, mentor students, and serve as a liaison between the university program, coordinator of clinical training, and student’s school. Active engagement in Division, University, and professional service activities is also expected including Division and committee meetings as well as recruitment and review of applicants to the master’s in speech-language pathology program.

Qualifications :

Applicants must meet the following criteria for consideration:

  • West Virginia Speech-Language Pathology license or eligible for a West Virginia Speech-Language Pathology license;
  • Professional Student Support Certificate or be eligible with the West Virginia Department of Education;
  • Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence;
  • 3 years of clinical experience;
  • Preference for those with clinical experience in a school setting.


All qualifications must be met by the time of the appointment.
