Job Description

The Humanities and Communication Department at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a non-tenure-track visiting instructor to teach writing-intensive courses on our Daytona Beach campus, beginning fall semester 2021. The position includes a 5-5 teaching load, consisting primarily of technical report writing and freshman composition, with no expectations of service or scholarship.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a track record of teaching excellence, a commitment to general education, and particular interest in the unique opportunity to teach writing at a STEM-oriented institution. Applicants should hold either an M.A., M.F.A., or a Ph.D in technical writing, English, composition, communication, or a closely-related discipline and have experience teaching college-level writing.

Diversity in all its forms is valued, and women, minorities, individuals with disabilities, and protected veterans are encouraged to apply. An AA/EEO employer, Embry-Riddle is the world’s leader in aviation- and aerospace-related education. See http://erau.edu for further information about the university.

Applicants must submit a letter of application; a vita, including a list of references with contact information; a short statement of teaching philosophy; and graduate transcripts. Applicants should consider submitting any documents that demonstrate excellence in teaching (original course materials, student evaluations, etc.). Questions should be directed to Human Resources at eraujobs@erau.edu.
