The School of Accounting in the College of Business at James Madison University (JMU) invites applications for a renewable term appointment with the rank of Lecturer. The appointment begins August 2021.

The AACSB-accredited College of Business includes nationally ranked undergraduate and graduate programs. Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of accounting faculty providing instruction in the core business and accounting curriculum. Primary teaching responsibilities are accounting principles courses. Additional teaching opportunities may occur.


The normal teaching load will be 4/4, i.e., four 3-credit courses each semester during the regular academic year. In addition to teaching, this position requires general service to the institution and the ability to maintain professional qualifications in accordance with AACSB standards.



  • Master’s degree in accounting or business from an AACSB-accredited institution is required.
  • Professional certification as a Certified Public Accountant is required.
  • Evidence of professional qualifications and engagement in accordance with AACSB standards is required.
  • Teaching experience is strongly preferred.
  • Professional experience in accounting is preferred.
