King Library: Coordinator of Strategy, Assessment, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to advance strategic planning, to coordinate assessment and organizational effectiveness of Library initiatives, and to direct projects and assignments within the University Libraries. This position requires a candidate with excellent project management skills, proactive planning, adaptability, and a customer service focus who will respond with flexibility to a wide variety of multiple and shifting priorities. 

The University Libraries are engaged in an annual continuing strategic planning process (lib.miamioh.edu/strategic/) attendant to the university’s strategic plan (https://miamioh.edu/about-miami/leadership/president/strategic-plan/). Duties include and are not limited to:

Strategic planning and initiatives: Works with library leadership to advance the libraries strategic agenda and priorities; Helps facilitate the implementation of strategic initiatives; Leads and serves on planning committees as appointed; Develops, directs, and coordinates planning documents and special reports for library leadership around strategic initiatives; Works with stakeholders to identify key performance indicators and to track progress against the strategic planning initiatives; Conducts research on relevant initiatives at other institutions of higher education and industry.

Organizational Effectiveness: Operationalizes the use of data, reports, and assessment results for decision making, strategic planning, and continuous improvement; Prepares, presents, and disseminates institutional assessment and effectiveness findings to senior leadership and other institutional stakeholders; Manages and coordinates library assessment activities; Takes a systems approach to assessment, recognizing that the library is part of a larger institution with a shared mission and goals; Utilizes assessment results to inform decisions, solve problems, make plans, and set policies;  Coordinates program evaluations, assessing the need for a new program and the effectiveness, efficiency, and impact of existing programs; Manages assessment data using appropriate tools; Develops a data-driven culture that emphasizes transparency in assessment and assessment for learning.

DEI: Develops an organizational strategy to connect and advance the library’s expanding DEI efforts in library programs, services, and collections; Plays a key role in developing, integrating, and advising on DEI initiatives with the goal of fostering positive and sustainable change in the Miami Libraries organizational culture; Join a community of colleagues committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization, including an active and engaged DEI Committee; Works closely with the Office of Institutional Diversity.

Required: Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of experience working in higher education; Demonstrated ability to advance multiple projects in a team environment, meet deadlines, and prioritize work; Demonstrated experience in DEI initiatives; Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; Demonstrated success in coordinating and learning project management efforts; Planning and leadership skills, with ability to function independently, take initiative, and set goals and priorities in a dynamic environment.

Consideration may be given to candidates with a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, Library Science or Information Science; Experience in conducting assessment projects and in documenting data and providing recommendations for improvement; 1-2 years of experience working in an academic library; Proficiency using project management tools.
