Remote Support Technician

Job Responsibilities:

The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina is accepting applications for a Remote Support Technician in the department of Information Technology Services. Will work as a member of The Citadel’s Information Technology Services team to provide technical IT remote support to the College’s Faculty, Staff, and Students.

Responsible for performing daily Tier 1 and 2 support tasks through The Citadel’s IT ticket system; remotely discovering and resolving IT software issues: including virus removal, software installation, account assistance, and computer diagnostics and trouble-shooting.

Responsible for the development of The Citadel’s IT Knowledge Base. Compile information, policies, and procedures. Capture screenshots and develop user-friendly brochures and informational flyers. Record processes to relay standard information to entire ITS staff. Recognize and identify trend issues in The Citadel’s community and participate in the resolution of such issues.

Minimum and Additional Requirements:

Associate’s degree and one-year technical experience in computer system design, development, maintenance, and management OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Windows operating systems technical skills required. Excellent customer service skills; strong commitment to customer service. Understanding and appreciation for needs of users in an academic environment; tact and sensitivity in dealing with a diverse user community. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, self-starter. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

CompTIA A+ Certification
