Ferrum College is seeking applications for the non-tenure track faculty position of Instructor/Assistant Professor of Art with a specialization in Graphic Design beginning in the 2021-2022 academic year. The successful applicant will be a dynamic, student-focused teacher whose expertise and portfolio includes graphic design, Photoshop, computer-aided design, and technology-enabled fabrication.

Experience with the following tools are expected:

  • Photoshop
  • Illustrator
  • InDesign
  • Printing and UX/UI/Web Design

Experience with any of the following would be beneficial:

  • Photography
  • 2D Design
  • Color theory
  • Adobe XD
  • WordPress/HTML/CSS
  • 3D modeling
  • 3D printing
  • Laser cutting
  • Vinyl cutting

Preference will be given to the candidate who demonstrates an ability to interact with diverse audiences and who are able to incorporate innovative, inclusive pedagogies and technology into their teaching and artistic production.
