Director of Assessment and Accreditation

Job Description

The Director of Assessment and Accreditation is responsible for providing leadership in the design, coordination, implementation and evaluation of institutional and unit assessment and for coordinating institutional accreditation activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
• Manages the Office of Assessment and Institutional Research
• Collaborates with constituencies across the University to provide accurate and timely information to decision makers and external agencies
• Coordinates processes for assessment of student learning outcomes
• Provides leadership with the University strategic initiatives in creating, reviewing and monitoring the Assessment Plan.
• Consults with programs on design and implementation of assessment programs
• Works with Alumni Relations and the Career Center to assure data gathering related to graduate placement is maintained.
• Serves as the University liaison to Missouri Department of Higher Education on assessment issues
• Develops reports that assist campus leadership in the development of plans, analysis of trends, and the understanding of outcomes.
• Leads and facilitates institutional accreditation efforts.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Required Qualifications

•Master’s degree with preparation in data analytics and assessment.
•Knowledge of current practices in institutional research, methods of measurement, research design, and data management.
•Experience in assessment and continuous improvement in higher education.
•Experience in budget management.

•Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in a related field
• Five years of experience in higher education assessment
• Three years of experience in institutional research
• Prior experience leading institutional accreditation efforts
• Experience with Higher Learning Commission accreditation standards and processes
• Experience with Banner enterprise software platform
• SCT Banner or related data management process

Physical Demands

Sedentary Work; exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Expertise in research methodology, analytical methodologies and multivariate statistical methods.
• Knowledge of higher education statistical processes, reporting requirements, regional accreditation standards and processes.
• Knowledge of Institutional and unit level assessment tools
• Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with students, faculty, administration, and external constituents.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team on multiple projects, establish priorities, and work collaboratively as a member of a community.
• Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
• Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and present data in a meaningful and user-friendly manner
• Research and database design and management
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Ability to work within a fast-paced environment and conducting many tasks simultaneously
• Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
