Dean of Student Services

SALARY/RANK: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS An earned doctorate is desirable, with a master’s degree being required.  Five years increasingly responsible management and supervisory experience in one or more areas of student services or areas related to student services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Demonstrated knowledge of student development theory and programs, student due process policies/procedures and an understanding of the current issues and trends in Student Affairs and Student Development.  Excellent communication skills; both oral and written. The candidate should be committed both personally and professionally to the mission and purpose of Christian higher education. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Dean of Student Services assists the Provost in managing the responsibilities of the Student Services division, providing leadership and ensuring that the University offers a comprehensive array of student services and student development programs, therefore playing a leadership role in setting and maintaining standards conducive to the academic, personal and professional growth and development of students.  In the absence of the Provost, the Dean of Student Services serves as the chief student services officer.  The Dean of Student Services has responsibility for providing leadership, management, and supervision for student services programs, student services personnel, counseling services, residence life programming and services, student health services, physical fitness and recreation, judicial affairs, and student government.
