OPS Test Proctor



Job Summary

The Test Proctor will support the testing functions of the Office of Adaptive Services by administering and proctoring exams, assigning students to testing rooms, and ensuring security of exams before and after completion. Additionally, the Test Proctor will perform front-desk support functions such as answering and directing calls, working within the computerized schedule and records, and greeting and directing students, faculty, and visitors.

Job Description

Typical duties include but are not limited to: • Proctors and administers individual student exams.
• Monitors student exams to ensure receipt of testing accommodations.
• Maintains exam security throughout process.
• Manages Test Schedule Forms and other proctored testing requests, sends reminder emails to faculty, flags issues, enters tests in Outlook schedule.
• Communicates with faculty regarding testing.
• Documents testing misconduct or irregularities and notifies supervisor in that case and in the instance of a breach in test security.
• Packages exams prior to administration and for delivery to faculty upon completion.
• Assists with e-Learning functions such as the administration of Canvas exams.
• Returns exams to faculty upon completion.
• Manages testing records and logs securely and with integrity.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding student testing and case information.
• Cooperates with other university offices regarding testing.
• Greets students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
• Collects Test Schedule Forms and other paperwork presented by students.
• Directs students to sign in and out for testing appointments, tutoring, and lab usage.
• Informs office staff of arrival of appointments.
• Answers phone, directs calls, takes messages for office staff.
• Provides general information to callers and guides them to the website as appropriate.
• Collects materials for, and maintains, student records.
• Schedules appointments for staff.
Other Duties: Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma
Computer Proficiency in MS Office
Flexibility to work various office hours

Preferred Qualifications:

AA degree or equivalent professional experience
Experience working in higher education

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of, or ability to learn, the Americans with Disabilities Act, sections 203 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Skilled in clear and effective written and verbal communication.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with students in an educational setting.
  • Ability to interact comfortably with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to adhere to FERPA requirements.
  • Ability to use computers and Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access) and to learn new programs.
