Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities

The Department of Psychology in the Collège of Humanities and Sciences invites you to apply for the position of Associate Director of Graduate Academic Operations. The selected candidate will manage multiple doctoral program components and facilitate timely decision-making around key processes, including admissions, course registration, course requirement completion, scholarships and awards, records management, secondary advising, graduate student’s professional development, faculty advising/admissions training, recruitment, graduation, enrollment, admissions reports, new graduate student orientation, liaison between department and university units, and troubleshooting.

Minimum Hiring Standards

The successful candidate will have:
• Master’s Degree required.
• 3 years’ experience in higher education.
• Confidence with data extraction and dissemination.
• Team approach to problem-solving.
• Sensitivity to equity, inclusion, and diversity.
• Experience working in a high-volume academic unit.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive when multitasking.
• Knowledge of Banner, WebAdmit, Degree Works, and Google (Docs, Forms, Spreadsheets).
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as an employee at VCU .

Preferred Hiring Standards

• Higher education experience in Psychology.
• Ability to potentially travel for recruitment.

Required Licenses/ Certifications Anticipated Hiring Range $55,000 to $70,000 Application Process/Additional Information
