Position Summary

Drug addiction research group seeks a motivated individual to assist in performing behavioral and molecular experiments. The focus of our research is to understand how drugs of abuse and stress mediate plasticity in the brain. We use a multi-facetted approach from molecules to behavior.

Specific duties include:
• General lab maintenance
• Small rodent surgery
• Care of animals used in research
• Observe and recording of animal behavior
• Preparation of tissue samples, protein assays and PCR

The candidate should be familiar with computers and the use of Microsoft Office Software. The successful candidate will work under the direction of senior research personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

One year experience through research or education within neuroscience, biology, psychology, or related discipline. Basic knowledge of small rodents and ability to observe and record animal behavior.

Preferred Qualifications

Research experience with small rodents including surgery and behavioral testing.
