The Colorado State University Pueblo Office of the Registrar links the institution with our past, present, and future students.  The office is responsible for maintaining the official student academic records of the University.  In addition, the Registrar’s Office provides a myriad of academic support services such as: academic record safekeeping; FERPA compliance; course registration; grade collection and processing; processing individual student course withdrawals; course and room scheduling; transcript delivery; transfer evaluation; degree audits; graduation tracking and clearance; enrollment and degree verifications; academic calendar planning; catalog publication; academic policy enforcement; and, construction of the course and final exam schedules.  Finally, the Registrar’s Office ensures compliance with extant local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations. The Office of the Registrar is dedicated to providing the best possible customer service to meet the needs of the University community.

 

 Description of Job: The Banner Systems Analyst provides technical and analytical support to the Senior Associate Registrar, as well as the Registrar’s Office as a whole by serving as a functional expert for the Banner student information system in relation to specific operations, policies, and procedures managed by the Registrar’s Office. This includes Banner Document Management and workflows and Banner Communication Management tools.
 
This position plays a significant role in the support of the University Student Information System (SIS) Ellucian Banner. These tasks are complex in nature and require consistency and accuracy to enter, maintain and audit data and reports. The Banner Analyst will design and document techniques to address business problems, use professional experience and analytical techniques to identify feasible course of action and design and test practical solutions and assist with the implementation.  
 
The Banner Systems Analyst will ensure integrity of the SIS by testing and validating upgrades to the system and the effects on other computer systems housed in the Registrar’s Office.   This includes writing edit reports to locate and resolve data issues, troubleshooting system issues in conjunction with CSU & CSU Pueblo Banner experts and providing training to internal and external stakeholders.  
Primary Duties
  • Manage day-to-day Banner technical operations for the Registrar’s Office and assigned personnel.  Includes maintenance, Banner system upgrades, and testing with integrated systems.
  • Develop sequel reports, oversee data reporting, and develop workflows essential to Registrar’s Office policy and procedures.
  • Oversee data integrity, best practices, process streamlining, and interface changes to Self-Service Banner and associated Banner Applications.
  • Coordinate with external departments and stakeholders to troubleshoot Banner specific issues and help identify areas of training that are needed for stakeholders and other special projects and duties as assigned.
  • Serve on internal and external committees.

 

 

 Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights: Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Systems, Mathematics, Natural Sciences or other related field.
  • 1 year in a CIS position OR 1 year experience in Ellucian Banner software.
  • Ability to write sequel scripts (SQL).
  • One or more year experience in an office setting. 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge or experience in business rules analysis modeling processes (flow charts, swim-lane process diagrams, use cases).
  • Experience with uAchieve, Transferology, CourseLeaf CAT & CIM.
  • Demonstrated experience with relational database management systems.
  • Experience working on collaborative projects building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
