Director of Carolina College Advising Corps

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a creative, committed, and clear-minded professional to serve as Director of the Carolina College Advising Corps. This position will oversee the work of the Carolina College Advising Corps, a public service of UNC-Chapel Hill that places recent Carolina graduates as admissions and financial-aid advisers in high schools across North Carolina, with the aim of helping low-income, first-generation, and other underrepresented students enroll in colleges and universities that will serve them well. This position also serves as a senior leader within Enrollment.
The Director is responsible for leading Carolina Corps staff members and advisers; managing relations with partner high schools and districts, funders, and other college access, education, and public service organizations; overseeing reporting and evaluation; and working closely with the Vice Provost for Enrollment to define the program strategy and ensure that its goals are met. Travel and work beyond the traditional 40-hour work week are required.
The successful candidate will demonstrate exemplary success in building and managing strong teams; solving problems; thinking critically; collaborating and building professional relationships with colleagues, students, and educators; and speaking and writing clearly and persuasively.

Educational
Requirements
Minimum Education &
Experience –
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required; for candidates
demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional
activities associated with the delivery and/or management of
student support functions, will accept a relevant undergraduate
degree and relevant experience in substitution. Specific minimum
experience requirements are at the discretion of the Vice
Chancellor for Student Affairs or the Department Head in other
units that may employ such positions based on accepted professional
standards of practice within the field.
Qualifications and Experience
At least
five years of experience in college admissions, outreach,
education, or a related field are required, as is demonstrated
achievement or potential in leadership.
