About the Opportunity:
The Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University- Vancouver Campus seeks an energetic, self-starter to serve a growing population of graduate students in a dynamic and fast paced university. The Student Services Advisor will provide professional support to the Director of Computer Science at the Vancouver Campus. They will support all graduate program administrative activities including advising students on academic and curriculum/registration matters; serve as liaison between the Vancouver Program and all University offices that handle matters pertaining to graduate students; Maintain the graduate student database utilizing Salesforces, Banner, and the Navigate systems. Prepare reports and analyses for the Director of CS-Vancouver, as needed. The position is available to start as soon as possible. The term of appointment will end on August 31, 2021 and is available for extension.

Responsibilities:
Support Graduate School Activities: Advise students regarding admissions requirements, curriculum matters, and registration procedures. Provide information to the Director in support of the academic probation and academic suspension process—monitor student performance at the end of each semester; inform academic suspension process. Organize special projects, such as the student social gatherings, student town hall meetings, and graduate advising workshops.; Serve as adviser to masters students in the computer science/Align program; Assist students in reading/research/project/thesis course approval including gathering advisers and reader approval of proposals before submission to MS committee for review; Work with graduate school Associate Dean on student conduct and disciplinary matters; Assist students with submission of course registration forms, record-add, and record change forms to registrar for CCIS course offerings

Maintain Graduate Student Database and Records: Oversee the updating and maintenance of the Graduate School's database using the University- wide Graduate Argos and Salesforce system for current students. Manage graduation clearance process for master's students, including review of student checklists for accuracy and fulfillment of requirements; meeting with students as necessary to clarify procedures and requirements.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Experience in a higher education setting preferred. Individual must have strong communication skills (verbal and written), proven experience with spreadsheets and databases, experience working with a diverse student population a must. (Note: 80% of the Graduate program are foreign nationals.) They must have experience working independently and as a member of a team.
