GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The Department of Physics and Earth Science at Framingham State University invites applications for a full time temporary position in Earth Science with an emphasis in the interaction of climate and surficial processes to join our department of three full-time faculty members. The successful candidate will teach three class sections per semester, advise majors and undeclared students, and serve the University through committee work. Teaching responsibilities will include GEOL 233 Environmental Geology, EASC 101 Conversations with the Earth (an introductory earth systems science class) EASC 230 Meteorology, and other classes as needed. The successful candidate will aid in the development of new intermediate and advanced classes in Department's curriculum.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Geology, Geochemistry, Geophysics or a closely related field at the time of hire.
- A proven ability to integrate undergraduate students in research is preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusion, and social justice in higher education.
Additional Information:
These are full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible positions in the Massachusetts State College Association (MSCA) bargaining unit at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary commensurate with experience in accordance with Appendix O of the MSCA contract (http://mscaunion.org/day-and-dgce-contracts/).
