Job Summary

The College of Media, Communications and Information encourages applications for an Advertising Strategy Scholar in Residence! This full-time faculty position within Advertising, Public Relations and Media Design will teach seven courses per year, playing a key role in evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of advertising strategy curriculum and developing standard syllabi for core courses. In addition, the instructor will help the department develop and oversee student participation in the Effie Awards competition. The instructor will also be responsible for maintaining relationships with the advertising industry, generating opportunities for students to meet professionals. This position will have a one-year term. Anticipated start date is August 16, 2021.

We are looking for a visionary who can help us build a national reputation for our advertising strategy program. The advertising strategy program includes account management, account planning, and media analytics. Currently, the CU advertising creative students are among the most consistent winners from a four-year university at the ONE Club’s student competition. We’d like to develop a similar record for the advertising strategy students.

What We Can Offer
The salary range for this position is $65,000-$70,000 and includes CU Boulder's excellent benefits package.

What We Require

  • A bachelor’s degree in advertising or a related field.
  • Experience developing brand and communications strategies for nationally or internationally recognized brands.
  • More than five years of experience working with senior management.
  • Experience conducting primary and secondary qualitative and quantitative research.


What We Would Like You To Have

  • At least 10 years of industry experience in creatively driven, award-winning ad agencies as recognized by national or international awards.
  • An MBA or master's degree in any academic field is preferred.
