Job Description:
Fairfield University is seeking a part-time (19-hours/week) Bursar Associate to join the team.
Reports to: Bursar
Division/Department: Finance/Bursar
Anticipated start date: July 1, 2021
Basic Function: Provides customer service to student accounts.
Unusual Work Conditions: Access to confidential financial information.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide customer service to students, authorized guardians, faculty and staff by phone, email or in person.
Receive and process payments to student accounts.
Prepare bank deposits related to student payments.
Prepare and send mass email communication to various student populations.
Knowledge and Skills Needed :
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business related field
Experience:
1-3 years previous business experience; must have Customer Service experience. Must possess basic mathematic skills, computer literacy, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Skills Required:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong computer skills with the ability to readily acquire new
program knowledge – Excel, Word, Banner Student and Workday
programs used in Bursar’s Office
- Must be Detail Oriented
- Possess ability to multi-task
