Position Summary

The Rehabilitation Science department is searching for a Department Coordinator. You will split your time between administrative tasks for a faculty member’s research lab, and administrative tasks for the running of the Rehabilitation Science Department.
Examples of duties include:
manage a faculty member’s active research lab in the following ways:
o coordinating lab schedules: calendars, access to calendars
o Organize lab maintenance, including furniture moving, facilities requests, equipment deliveries, sending required IT requests.

department clerical tasks such as:

o issuing continuing education credits as needed: track attendance, exit quiz, issuing certificates.
o Running academic advisement reports and electronically filing into UB Box
o Putting GPAs in Grade Tracker (Excel) each semester.
o Making sure all OT and PT students are appropriately enrolled before each semester.
o Maintain departmental mailing campaign contact lists in Excel.
o Ordering student nametags

Department Events Coordination: will aid in the planning of the following annual department events throughout the year, including: student honors society induction ceremonies and engagement activities; awards ceremonies; annual lecture series

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree.

• 1 year experience working in an office.
• Previous work in an active research lab

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year experience working at UB
- intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Be able to learn new computer programs with training
- Ability to interact with faculty, staff, students, and research participants
- Organization, problem solving, and analytical thinking
