The ideal candidate will have a distinguished professional record with extensive expertise conducting policy-relevant economic analysis, an established capacity for developing researcher-practitioner partnerships, and demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and leadership with a focus on economic equity and racial justice. We are particularly interested in candidates with teaching and applied research interests in one or more of the following areas: inequities and disparities in health, income/wealth, the labor market, education, housing, sustainability and resilience. Candidates should have demonstrated commitment to fostering diverse and inclusive environments as well as to promoting experiential learning, which are central to a Northeastern University education.

Instructional formats include classroom, online, hybrid, and capstone (e.g. project-oriented) teaching. The anticipated course load is two courses in each of the fall and spring semesters.

Research: The Professor of the Practice will contribute to our applied research and experiential mission, with research that focuses on economic inequities, racial justice, and applied policy issues as well as government institutions and/or the nonprofit sector. Vital to the success of our program initiatives, the Professor of Practice will advance our existing relationships in local, national, and international settings to lead applied research projects and engage in, impactful policy-relevant analysis. This will involve working closely with and contributing to our existing research centers engaged in related work including the Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional Policy, the Boston Area Research Initiative, the Social Impact Lab and the Institute for Health Equity and Social Justice Research.
