Responsibilities:

Thomas Jefferson University seeks to fill several positions for full-time, 9 month, non-tenure-track faculty members with a strong commitment to biology or chemistry education. Educational responsibilities include teaching introductory and advanced biology or chemistry courses including lectures and labs for biology and chemistry majors and non-majors. The successful candidates will also be expected to participate in student advising and assessment. Candidates should have a record of excellence in teaching at the college level and demonstrated commitment to the pedagogies of active student learning.

The successful candidate will teach introductory and advanced biology or chemistry lectures and labs for biology or chemistry majors as well as students enrolled in general education courses in biology, chemistry, life sciences, and health sciences. The standard teaching load is 12 credits per semester.

Qualifications

Education Required:

Candidate must have a research or clinical doctorate or a foreign equivalent to a U.S. doctoral degree in biology or chemistry or a closely related field.

Candidates who will thrive in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment are strongly encouraged. While candidates with expertise in any field of biology or chemistry will be considered, applicants in areas of anatomy and physiology, organic chemistry, biochemistry, or general biology, as well as candidates able to teach across multiple disciplines, are especially encouraged. 

Appointments to these positions will be made pending budget approval.
