Liver and Kidney Transplant Surgeon Position
The Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery at the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified Liver & Kidney Transplant Surgeon at the Assistant Professor level. a site for the NHLBI-sponsored Cardiothoracic Surgical Trials Network.
The ideal candidate will have broad experience in adult liver and kidney surgery with a track record of exemplary clinical and academic results. The applicant will divide his or her time between liver and kidney transplantation. Experience in living donor transplants and robotic surgery is preferred. Faculty will have the privilege and responsibility of helping to teach transplant surgery to the integrated trainees and will expand their research and scholarly activities to achieve national and international recognition as they advance the field. The University of Maryland is a world-renowned research institution that provides a superb academic foundation for basic, clinical, and translational research. Robust opportunities exist to enhance the Division’s existing research portfolio through collaboration with an array of researchers within the Department of Surgery and across the University.
About the Division :
The Division of Transplant Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine includes 11 full-time and part-time faculty providing transplant surgery services primarily at the University of Maryland Medical Center Campus with ancillary practices through-out the State of Maryland and perform between 250 and 400 organ transplant a year. The Division sponsors a two-year Transplant Fellowship program. The Division is home to several NIH-funded surgeon-scientists and has a Clinical Research Unit with over 20 prospectively enrolling clinical trials.
