Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean of Admissions and Marketing, the Assistant Director of Video and Digital Media oversees video content production and assists with other digital communications that promote Juniata College and its brand to prospective students and families, alumni, friends of the College, influential constituencies, and the broader public. The ideal candidate should demonstrate successful multimedia storytelling techniques that enhances the brand of Juniata College.
The Assistant Director of Video and Digital media will provide vision and management for Juniata’s video production, as well as key contributions to our digital media strategy including: design, content, marketing effectiveness, functional and aesthetic innovation. The successful candidate will direct and supervise the work of multidisciplinary, freelance student teams that develop and maintain fluencies in emerging media including video, various forms of animation, audio, and social media; create and direct the production of media delivered through a variety of channels including web, broadcast, podcast, streaming, projection, and others. They will serve as an active member of the Juniata College marketing team.
Key responsibilities,
• Oversee video production for the College, including managing the Digital Media Studio, student staff, budget oversight, hardware/software acquisition and maintenance, and resource allocation.

• Contribute to the College’s social media platforms as a member of the social media team.

• Work closely with Juniata administrative offices in the design, production and delivery of media content in support of institutional objectives; and provide institutional leadership in the areas of digital and social media, exploring and demonstrating possibilities, applications and coordinated uses of digital media.

• Build content for Juniata’s brand communications including, but not limited to, videography for the purpose of promoting the College.

• Provide strategic input for paid, earned, shared, and owned media campaigns and assist with the production of collateral necessary to execute digital marketing campaigns across networks.

Position Qualifications

• Very strong photography and videography skills.
• Experience with DSLR cameras, lighting equipment, and audio equipment, and strong understanding of the role these tools play in storytelling.
• Knowledge and abilities normally acquired through a bachelor’s degree in a digital-
media­related discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, supervise multiple complex productions, meet overlapping deadlines, effectively motivate, and manage student production workers.
• Knowledge of and fluency in relevant software as appropriate, including Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and other Adobe Creative Cloud software.
• Familiarity with narrative and illustrative conventions and recent trends and innovations in temporal media; familiarity with contemporary advertising and marketing techniques, especially those utilizing comprehensive approaches to digital and social media.
• Candidates should have subject-matter-experience in creating/producing and editing video along with demonstrating user-knowledge with the industry standard technology.
• Excellent communications skills and the ability to work closely with various members of the College community in concept and project development to meet their needs.
• An ability to work independently with a high attention to detail
