The Department of Computer Science at Purdue Fort Wayne invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall semester 2021. Outstanding candidates in all areas of Computer Science are encouraged to apply. Job responsibilities include: teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in Computer Science, academic advising, and a strong pursuit of scholarly endeavors. Service to and engagement with the University, Department, and community is also required.

PFW is the largest university in northeast Indiana. The Computer Science department has 10 tenured and tenure-track faculty and two full-time lecturers, and about 400 students in four different undergraduate and graduate programs. The department is ABET accredited in Computer Science.

Requirements for the position are: hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field by the beginning of the 2021 fall semester (ABD will be considered but degree must be in hand by start of fall 2021 semester); a strong record of teaching and research missions aligned with the Department; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and an interest in working with students and collaborating with the business community.

For teaching, we require evidence of teaching effectiveness and a 1-2 page teaching philosophy. All materials must be submitted electronically to pitcherk@pfw.edu.
